I'll dominate 'serious fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.
Briton Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" the American as the pair confronted each other to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Former twice world heavyweight champion Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I will break his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to really want to hurt him. That's my intention."
Civil Interaction
In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually famous for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Fighter
In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial earnings.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.
"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually going ahead.
